About Me

this photo was taken after a heavy rainstorm that knocked one of our eucalyptus trees in the backyard down and broke a fence.

I grew up in small suburban neighborhood in El Cerrito, California, a small suburban city in the much larger Bay Area. As a kid I had a very laid back and fun life, struggles and anxiety were not a thing I experienced much of until middle school, as my parents did a very good job keeping my life as stress free and fun as possible, as a kids life should be. I watched a lot of nature documentaries and spent a lot of my time exploring the outdoors in my free time, this was the beginning of my love for nature and biology. As I grew up, so did my passion for science and understanding how the natural world works.

Growing older also came with more responsibilities, school and extracurriculars took up more and more of my time, but my passion for science always was there. I took all the science classes in high school, and when it came time to apply for colleges I knew i wanted to go to a research institute. I ended up coming to Northeastern University because the experiential learning had great benefits and it fit with me wanting to move to the east coast. Im now a third year studying bioengineering and absolutely love it. In my free time I still enjoy exploring the great outdoors and love to go hiking whenever I can. I also enjoy biking, playing volleyball, keeping houseplants, photography, and rock climbing.
