Basic Lab Skills

I am proficient in most basic lab skills that are required to work in a biological lab. I can pipette, make dilutions, perform mammalian cell culture, run assays, and collect and interpret data.
Mixed Lymphocyte Reaction and other Functional Assays

I learned how to do mixed lymphocyte reactions during my time at Jounce. A mixed lymphocyte reaction or MLR for short, is a very common functional where allogenic immune cells from one donor are plated in co culture with T cells from another donor to elicit an immune response. Antibodies and other parameters can be adjusted to elicit a more favorable response. Data is usually read out through ELISA or CBA’s
Data Reading and Flow Cytometry

During my time at Jounce I also learned how to gather data using a flow cytometer. Most of the data I collected was from cytokine bead arrays, which is essentially like a multiplexed sandwich ELISA that can look at various different cytokine produced from an assay. I also have very basic knowledge of how to run flow as well. In addition to collecting data I also used FCAP Array and GRAPHPAD Prism to analyze and interpret the data.
Tensile Testing

During my time at Aziyo I learned how to do tensile testing using an Instron machine like pictured above. I did tests on human skin graft samples and measured tensile strength and yield strength at failure.
